The Whitewater Benefice

Alpha

Our Alpha course has started, but you can still join us! Wednesdays, 7.30pm til 9.30pm, at St John's Church. All welcome. Contact the Benefice Office for details.

Who is Alpha for?

Alpha is for everyone; no question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish. We don't assume any background knowledge of or belief in Christianity and everyone is welcome.

What is Alpha?

Alpha is an opportunity to explore the meaning of life in an informal, fun and friendly environment. The Alpha course consists of a series of talks, looking at topics including ‘Who is Jesus?’ and ‘Why and how do I pray?’, and includes a day away. We usually begin with food and each talk is followed by discussion in small groups.

Alpha runs for eleven weeks. You don't have to come to the whole course - just pop along and see what you think. No pressure.

Missed a session? Take a look at these videos.
Week 1 - Is there more to life than this?
Week 2 - Who is Jesus?
Week 3 - Why did Jesus die?
Week 4 - How can we have faith?
Week 5 - Why and how should I pray?
Week 6 - Why and how should I read the bible?
Week 7 - How does God guide us?

Why attend the Alpha course?

Some people want to investigate whether God exists; others are concerned about what happens after death. Some people have particular questions that they would like to discuss; others want to understand other peoples' beliefs or would like to explore what the purpose of life is. Many have never been to church, others may have attended church occasionally but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith.

So come, relax, eat, share your thoughts and explore the meaning of life.

If you are interested in attending the Alpha course, please complete this registration form and return to the Benefice Office. If you want to know more contact the Benefice Office.
